Observation of the parliamentary elections in Armenia
At the invitation of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Head of the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Kurbankulov, as part of the CIS Observation Mission, participated in monitoring the preparation and holding of elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia which took place on April 2, 2017.
The elections were held in accordance with the Constitution and the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia, as well as other normative-legal acts.
More than 28 thousand national observers from public organizations, 6 thousand trustees from each political party and bloc, as well as 634 observers from a number of countries and international organizations, including the OSCE, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council Europe and the CIS. The Mission of the CIS included 172 observers.
The voting was attended by 1,577,323 people, which is 60.93% of the total number of registered voters.
According to the preliminary data of the CEC of Armenia, the seats in the National Assembly were received by: the ruling Republican Party of Armenia – 58, the "Tsarukyan" block – 31, the block "ELK" ("Way Out ") – 9, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation "Dashnaktsutyun" - 7.
