"Elections are held in compliance with international standards"

About 300 observers from foreign states and international organizations are monitoring the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. UzA correspondents asked some of the observers to speak about the election process.
Krunes Helmut, head of KRK construction industrial company (Austria):“The elections to the parliament of Uzbekistan are being held openly and in accordance with the national legislation and international standards. I could observe this at the voting station No.125 in Tashkent.
“It is notable that the people went to vote from early morning. The citizens understand the responsibility for the future development of their country.
“After attaining independence, Uzbekistan has reached progress in all areas, including in the economic sphere. This means your country has chosen the right way of national development.”
