27.12.2009
The elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Joqargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan and city and district people’s deputies’ councils started at all voting stations in Karakalpakstan.
“All required conditions for the free expression of the will of the voters have been created,” chairman of the fourth Ernazar-Olakuz district election commission Kalboy Alimov said. “More than 10,000 voters are registered in our district.”
At the voting station No.16, more than 1,400 voters are registered. One of them is Gulbahor Juzumbetova, director of the State museum of military glory of Karakalpakstan. She was among the first ones to vote here.
“The fact that our compatriots have come to the voting stations early in the morning shows that they are concerned about the future of their Motherland,” she told UzA. “We hope the future deputies will make a decent contribution to the prosperity of the country.”
