In accordance with the legislation, the session was opened by the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov. He made a report on the results of the elections to the Legislative Chamber and congratulated the newly elected deputies.
After approving the session agenda, the deputies elected the interim secretariat of the first session and the interim group for use of the electronic voting system.
In accordance with the law on the Legislative Chamber regulation, the deputies formed the Elders Council for the election of the Speaker of the chamber and vice speakers.
After the session of the Elders Council, the CEC chairman announced the council’s proposal on the candidate to the post of the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber. In secret voting, the deputies elected Diloram Tashmuhamedova as the Speaker of the parliament’s lower house.
The deputies then voted on the candidates to the posts of vice speakers and elected Bakhtiyar Yakubov (head of fraction of Liberal Democratic Party), Ulugbek Vafoyev (head of fraction of People’s Democratic Party), Ulugbek Muhamadiyev (head of fraction of Milliy Tiklanish party), Ismail Saifnazarov (head of fraction of Adolat party) and Boriy Alihanov (head of deputy group from the Ecological Movement).
The chamber registered fractions of political parties and the deputy group of the Ecological Movement, created the day earlier at the constituent assemblies of the four parties and the Ecological Movement.
The deputies also formed the corresponding committees of the parliament’s lower house and elected these committees’ chairpersons.
