Congresses of four political parties of Uzbekistan admitted by CEC to the elections to representative authorities took place in Tashkent. Adoption of political parties’ election programs as well as nomination of candidates to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis became the main feature of their work.
Social Democratic Party “Adolat” was one of the first to hold the national assembly in Tashkent on November 5. Some 220 delegates elected from the regional party organizations participated in it. The congress participants analyzed comprehensively and critically the results of the party’s activity and the work of its governing bodies in 2005-2009, the achieved success, existing shortcomings and the unused reserves. They also defined the priority directions of increasing the efficiency of the work of the party organizations in the regions, as well as measures to improve the work of the parliamentary faction and the deputy groups in the regional people’s deputies councils.
The congress delegates outlined the priority tasks for active participation of the Adolat in the upcoming elections to the legislative and the representative authority bodies. The congress considered and approved the main positions of the election platform of Adolat SDP, that define the party’s role and place in the solution of the important tasks of democratization and renewal of the country, as well as deepening economic and sociopolitical reforms.
The Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milliy Tiklanish” held its second congress in Tashkent after social democrats.
Congress delegates have identified priorities for the active participation of the Party in the forthcoming elections to the legislative and representative bodies, approved the basic provisions of the party’s election program, defining its place and role in ensuring the country’s national interests in economic, political and social spheres, the realization of the idea of national revival, preservation of national traditions and values, improving the spiritual and moral education of citizens.
The firth congress of the supreme body of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen of Uzbekistan –Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP) took place in Tashkent as well.
The congress participants emphasized the necessity for improvement of party’s activities in implementation of large socially important projects, formation of human resources’ reserve to work not only in representative but also in administrative authority bodies.
The delegates approved the main priorities of the election platform of UzLiDeP, which cover activities in further deepening of market reforms, liberalization of the economy, state and social construction, support of businessmen and farmers, corporeal and intellectual property owners. They outlined the tasks for party organizations to raise the sociopolitical activity of citizens and their spiritual and moral education.
The congress of the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan was held this week as well.
About 350 delegates from all regions of the country pointed out the unused potential in PDPU faction’s activity in the lower chamber of the parliament which defined itself as parliamentary minority. They also indicated to the unused reserves in the activity of party’s deputy groups in regional councils of people’s representatives, public chambers, information and analytical ensuring of the work of party organizations in all levels.
The main directions of the election platform setting the important tasks on more effective expression and defense of their electorate’s interests, increasing the PDPU’s role in the socioeconomic, public and political reforms in the country focusing on the formation of the socially oriented market economy and implementation of other priority tasks of democratic renewal and modernization of the country were approved in the congress of the party’s supreme body.
All congresses addressed also other issues within the competence of supreme bodies of all parties and adopted respective decisions.
