Second round of voting held successfully

Second round of voting at the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oiy Majlis of Uzbekistan (in 39 electoral districts) and local councils (in 779 electoral districts) was held on 10 January.
As reported earlier, at the elections held on 27 December none of the candidates to the sets in the parliament received the required number of votes in 39 of the 135 electoral districts.
Of 4,969,547 eligible voters, 3,960,876 or 79.7% cast their votes at 2,475 polling stations in 39 electoral districts.
More than 4,200 observers from political parties monitored the second round of voting. Over 4,000 political party representatives participated in the vote count at polling stations.
The Central Election Commission did not receive any information on violations during the second round of voting process.
In Tashkent, 74.3% of more than 520,000 eligible voters participated in the voting at 207 polling stations in 4 electoral districts.
