PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF UZBEKISTAN

People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (in abbreviated form – PDP Uzbekistan) was founded at the Founding Congress on November 1, 1991.
In the Party created and operate 10659 primary organizations directly uniting 364,8 thousand members of the Party (data from July 1, 2009).
The People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan expresses and defends interests of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in need of social assistance and protection. First of all, this is unemployed but able-bodied population, other people in need of social protection and experiencing difficulties in finding jobs. These are teachers, doctors, workers and experts of other social spheres. These are needy and large families, pensioners and people with the limited abilities.
The primary objectives of the Party, according to its program, are:
- material and spiritual well-being of workers and every family;
- reliable insurance of equal opportunities, guarantees of constitutional rights and civil freedoms of citizens;
- protection of honor, dignity and peaceful life of people irrespective of their nationality, origin, beliefs and so on;
- creation of just society.
The party has own mass media.
The central newspaper of party – “Uzbekiston ovozi” (Voice of Uzbekistan), published in Uzbek language; “Golos Uzbekistana” (Voice of Uzbekistan) published in Russian language.
